Guided Forest Therapy, Forest Bathing, or Shinrin-Yoku.

Guided Forest Therapy is a gentle, meditative experience that invites you to slow down and reconnect with the natural world. Through mindful walking and sensory awareness, you’re encouraged to listen to the rustling leaves, feel the textures of bark beneath your fingertips, and breathe in the rich, grounding scent of the forest air. Each moment becomes an opportunity to return to presence and ease.

At Nurtured Minds Wellness, our guided forest therapy sessions are facilitated by licensed, trauma-informed therapists who weave together the principles of mindfulness, somatic awareness, and nervous system regulation. Whether you’re seeking stress relief, mental clarity, or a renewed sense of inner peace, these sessions offer a restorative experience through a chance to step away from the rush of daily life and settle into the steady rhythm of nature.

Rooted in neuroscience and guided by nature, forest therapy helps the body remember safety, balance, and belonging. A quiet homecoming to yourself.

Launching Spring 2026

Something slower is coming.

In Spring 2026, we will be opening a small number of Forest Therapy Intensives on our private retreat property near Wizard Lake. These experiences are designed for people who feel stuck in patterns that don’t shift through weekly therapy alone and who sense that their nervous system needs something deeper, more immersive, and more embodied.

Forest Therapy Intensives offer extended time and space to work gently but thoroughly with the nervous system, attachment patterns, and the parts of you that learned to stay vigilant, over-function, or hold it all together.

This is not a retreat.
This is not a hike with coaching.
This is not pushing for breakthroughs.

These are clinically-informed, one-on-one therapeutic intensives held in nature, where the forest becomes part of the container for healing.

What is a Forest Therapy Intensive?

A Forest Therapy Intensive is a 3 hour therapeutic experience that weaves together:

• Somatic and nervous system-informed therapy
• Parts-based and attachment-oriented work
• Nature-based regulation and co-regulation
• Spacious pacing that allows your system to soften rather than perform

Sessions unfold slowly, with room for rest, reflection, movement, and integration. The land supports what words alone often cannot.

Who These Intensives Are For

Forest Therapy Intensives may be a good fit if you:

• Feel chronically overwhelmed, burnt out, or emotionally exhausted
• Have done “the work” but feel something hasn’t quite landed in your body
• Struggle with rest, safety, or slowing down
• Are navigating grief, transition, or identity shifts
• Want a deeper therapeutic experience without entering residential treatment

These intensives are especially supportive for people whose nervous systems learned to stay alert in order to survive and now need help learning a different rhythm.

Rooted in Safety, Not Pressure

Our approach is rooted in neuroscience, guided by nature.

There is no expectation to push, relive, or “fix” anything. The work meets you where you are, respecting your capacity and your pace. Nature is used as a tool and as a regulating presence that supports safety, grounding, and integration.

A Path That Fits You

Forest Therapy Intensives will be offered around a small number of core themes, while also allowing space to co-create a custom experience with your therapist. These themes could be grief, burnout recovery, inner child healing etc.

Some people arrive knowing exactly what they want to work with. Others arrive feeling unsure, only aware that something needs tending.

Both are welcome.

Whether you choose a focused theme or collaboratively shape an intensive that reflects your history, capacity, and goals, the work is guided by attunement rather than a preset agenda. Your therapist will work with you to design an experience that feels supportive, contained, and responsive to your nervous system.

This is not about following a formula.
It’s about creating the right conditions for meaningful change.
